EMBC Scholarship Sunday 2025

 At EMBC, we are dedicated to not only the spiritual growth of our community, but also the scholastic advancement of our youth and adult students. We would love for you to join us Sunday, July 20th during 11:00 am Morning Worship as we celebrate this years scholars. We have time for fellowship and we will also be passing out schools supplies. Ebenezer first began to give gifts to graduates under the leadership of Reverend Royal Lee Ferrell. When one graduated from High School they received a Bible and a check for $25. Later a scholarship committee was formed as the church grew and more persons began to tithe

Scholarship Sunday was created under the leadership of Bishop Paul Andrew Jackson. The first Sunday of each month was and continues to be designated as Scholarship Sunday. Bishop Jackson challenged all members to give $10 per month to keep the funds flowing so the scholarship amount could increase from $500 per year to $1,000.

Scholarship is much more than just getting straight A's or maintaining a 2.5 out of a 4.0 Grade Point Average. It is a life-long love of learning. In the end it is a sum of small choices. Each time you decide you WANT to learn something, the experience will be so rewarding that the next time becomes easier. Continue to learn until it becomes a habit.
